Big Smiles on Little Faces 2008 Masonic Children's Show at the Centre at HCC
On October 11, 2008 at The Centre at Halifax Community College, the Widow’s Son Lodge will present “Big Smile On Little Faces 2008. This children’s variety show will include clowns, magicians and a ventriloquist. The clowns will be none other than the Amran Shrine Clowns well known for their involvement in local parades and their wonderful balloon animals. Ron Baker will be the ventriloquist for the day. Ron’s hilarious blend of ventriloquism, comedy, magic and songs will keep you on the edge of your seat. He’s professional, clean, funny, and involves the audience in his show. Philip & Henry the amazing magicians round out the day with their illusions and fun. Concessions will be available throughout the day and will include; popcorn, candy, soft drinks, cotton candy, pretzels, etc. Show times are 12 pm and 4 pm. Halifax Harvest Days & 5k Run/Walk
Festival highlighting County agriculture and cultural history, local and regional entertainers grace the outdoor amphitheater, NC high school rodeo provides evening entertainment on both nights of the festival. Multi state crafters and food vendors provide unique shopping and tasting opportunities for attendees. Re-enactors from the Revolutionary, Civil and WWII provide a unique history lesson. The rodeo will begin at 8 pm on the 17th and 7 pm on the 18th.
The Halifax County 4-H Clubs and the HC Cooperative Extension Service is hosting the first annual 5k run/walk during Halifax Harvest Days this year on Saturday, October 18. The event will be held at the HC 4-H Rural Life Center located at 13763 Hwy 903 in Halifax, NC. Please register before October 10th and the fee is $15. After October 10th, the late registration fee is $25. Check-in at the concession stand at the upper arena. Age divisions include 9-13, 14-19, 20-40, and over 40.
